MD5 (RFC 1321)

InspectFiles' MD5 support is our own implementation, written from the algorithm specification in RFC 1321 (R. Rivest, April 1992) rather than adapted from a third-party port. As required by the terms accompanying RFC 1321, that software is identified as the β€œRSA Data Security, Inc. MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm”.

File signature data

The magic-byte signatures used for file type detection are factual format identifiers compiled from public format specifications and public references.
